Bernard Grau-Académie des beaux-arts Foundation programme for Cuban artists

The Bernard Grau-Académie des beaux-arts Foundation, which aims to support the Cuban artistic scene, is joining forces with the Cité internationale des arts to offer a residency programme for Cuban composers and choreographers.


    The Bernard Grau Foundation-Académie des Beaux-Arts, whose aim is to support the Cuban art scene and promote its vitality, and the Cité Internationale des Arts jointly developped a residency programme for Cuban creators practising a discipline corresponding to a section of the Académie des Beaux-Arts (Painting, Sculpture, Architecture, Printmaking and Drawing, Musical Composition, Free Members, Film and Audiovisual, Photography, Choreography). Since 2023, the Painting, Architecture, Printmaking and Drawing sections have been honoured.


    The 2025 edition is devoted to the Music Composition and Choreography sections. The call is open to Cuban composers and choreographers.


    The Bernard Grau-Académie des beaux-arts Foundation x Cité internationale des arts residency programme offers the winner a six-month residency to develop a musical composition or choreographic project linking the French and Cuban artistic scenes.


    The residency will run from 3 June to 27 November 2025.


    The programme includes:


    • payment of travel expenses to Paris

    • studio accommodation on the Marais site of the Cité internationale des arts

    • payment by the Fondation Bernard Grau-Académie des beaux-arts of a monthly living allowance of 850 euros and production aid of 1,000 euros, subject to prior agreement and presentation of supporting documents

    • artistic and professional support from the Cité internationale des arts team

    • exchanges and meetings with members and correspondents of the Académie des Beaux-Arts and artists benefiting from the Académie's other residency programmes.
